Mushroom structures blurring indoor and outdoor, nature and artifice
Our first project in Africa! Some premises when we started: shading, local materials and craftsmanship, natural cross ventilation, and social gathering versus privacy. With that in mind, concrete mushroom structures were the perfect solution we found for this project. The big structures with minimal support achieved the sun protection and temperature control the site required and ensured plan freedom for activities and furniture placement. The result is a fun but peaceful design that blurs the boundary between structure and architecture, indoor and outdoor, and contemporary and timeless design.

Rural Contemporary reinterpretations
The project establishes new readings to traditional elements such as bamboo, pitch roof, and usable corridor to become an artifice, by definition anomalous to nature, that is capable of exalting its surroundings, its history and its landscape

Nestled within a circular patio, this unique living space offers a remarkable integration of outdoor and indoor living, creating a haven of tranquility and style
Our latest ADU project seamlessly blends contemporary design with tradition, creating a harmonious living space within a circular patio. The key feature is a semicircular cutout that maximizes natural light, fostering an airy and spacious atmosphere. Exposed wood beams in the interior add a rustic yet modern charm, creating a cozy environment. A central firepit in the heart of the patio serves as a gathering point, casting a comforting glow during evenings.
Thoughtful layout integrates living, dining, and relaxation spaces, connected by radiant energy from the patio. Sustainability is a priority, with energy-efficient features and eco-friendly materials. This ADU redefines the concept by bridging indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a unique and harmonious living experience that transcends size limitations

The journey and the landscape
The monolith, as an allegorical image of hot coal, was perforated or fractured to reveal the home’s warmth. Moreover, these perforations are related to the landscape and each manage to, through different strategies, highlight the natural surroundings.
